Changing from the World
of Tape at the Iditarod
Imagine
changing your production workflow in the middle of a
project. Would you panic? Maybe you would just
want to bring the project to a grinding halt!
 Just a week before the
start of the Iditarod Dog Race, producers decided to change
from tape based production to Panasonic's solid state P2HD
camcorders. The multiple video  crews were told that the
entire work flow was to change, period. This would be
the first time the race was captured in hi-definition.
Bernie Mitchell was there. He not only trained and
supported the crews, but traveled the entire trail
& shot in minus 67 degree weather. Bernie's
presentation, including incredible images from the trail, will
explain how this all happened and how it worked.

cover the Panasonic P2 workflow from acquisition to
editing to archiving as well as an overview on how to achieve
looks with the P2 cameras and how to think like a
Cinematographer.
