You will not believe the quality, these affordable HD cameras produce. It has been a very busy spring here at SPPI. You must have noticed I haven't had much time to update this site. Please consider this to be still under construction. Panasonic asked Silver Platter Productions, Inc to produce the launch DVD for the new HMC150 camera and I have become the AVCHD Evangelist for their new AVCCAM line of cameras, including the hot new HMC40. This format presents a second generation affordable high definition solution. True HD (1080i 60, 1080p at 24frames, and 30 frames and 720p at 24, 30 and 60 frames) all recorded on readily available and inexpensive SD cards. In short, WOW! I have had the pleasure of shooting with these new AVCCAM cameras in a variety of wonderful locations; SF, Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, Long Beach, CA. It is such as easy workflow that at this year's MacWorld we had 2 crews shooting all over the event, we were editing on Final Cut, right in the booth and posting the finished stories to the multitude of digital signage screens all over the venue. Pretty cool. I am also teaching two classes again this year at the Maine Media Workshops. The classes are Panasonic Small Format HD Filmmaking. It will cover P2 and AVCHD cameras and production workflow. The dates for the classes are July 26-Aug. 1 and Oct. 11-17. Please visit link below for more information and to register. A brief history:

Silver Platter Productions, Inc. is celebrating our 28th birthday! The company was incorporated in 1981 in Southern California, with the simple mission of providing "Sterling Quality" to our clients. We started out creating interactive laserdiscs for a variety of clients, including a large telecommunications firm and an interactive exhibit at Walt Disney World. In 1991, we relocated the business to East Tennessee. Over the years, we have created many award winning programs, in broadcast, cable, and corporate video and multimedia (moving from laserdisc to CD-ROM, CD-i, DVD and internet immersive video.) Now, we find ourselves creating exciting hi-def programs!
